As the cooler days slowly trickle in and summer draws to a close, every fashion lover’s mind is completely filled with thoughts of autumn and winter outfits. Personally, while I love summer style where your clothes aren’t hidden under heavy outerwear, I feel like autumn and winter fashion lets you express your personal style even more through layering.
Here are the items I’ve been steadily collecting since August—right in the middle of summer—that I can’t wait to wear this coming season.
1, Outerwear
I snagged this Zara jacket thinking it would be absolutely perfect for winter trips. It features a cropped silhouette with a high neck design. It looks super cute buttoned all the way up, but it’s equally stylish left open with a turtleneck layered underneath. It’s incredibly versatile—you can pair it with jeans for a casual look, or match it with a miniskirt and knee-high boots for a more girly style.
I also picked up another outerwear piece from Zara: a cape coat to complete a look that’s been sitting on my Pinterest board for the longest time. It has a flared silhouette with a waist tie ribbon that creates a beautifully defined shape. I opted for brown—a color I’m trying for the very first time 🤎. While I’m obviously excited to pair it with tall boots, it also goes seamlessly with heels or loafers.
2, Boots
My Hunter boots, which I also mentioned in my summer favorites! They’re the ultimate autumn staple, and I honestly can’t wait to wear them. I’m planning to style them with a white skirt for a cute farm-girl aesthetic, or layer a sweater over a collared shirt for a classic Old Money look. They’re a special item that brightens up any day, rain or shine.
3, Lipliner
A neutral, slightly darker lip is an absolute essential for autumn/winter makeup. The newest addition to my makeup pouch is the PATRICK TA Lip Liner in “SHE’S PROUD.” It’s a soft pink-beige that isn’t too overpowering. While you can certainly complete a look without it, using it adds just enough definition to make your lips look effortlessly sexy.
4, Chanel Lipstick
Rouge Coco Flash in No. 90—a holy grail repurchase of mine! While it works all year round, its rich hydration makes it an absolute lifesaver during the colder months. It’s a muted, glossy pink with a lovely shine. It pairs beautifully with the PATRICK TA liner, leaving you with a glossy, plump, and elegant finish.
